NIPOST workers harp on training, welfare
AS part of effort to ensure efficient and effective service delivery, the newly recruited staff of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) has urged the management of the agency to priorities their training and welfare in order to bring out the best in them.
They made the appeal yesterday during a facility tour of the agency zonal office by the board members led by the Chairman, Maimuna Abubakar.
The workers said that in order for the postal service to take advantage of emerging business trends in the industry, it needed to take the training of the new members of staff as a priority, among other things.
They also urged the agency to put in place necessary good welfare packages as a motivation.
In her response, Abubakar said that there was on going reformation and restructuring within the organisation, aimed at addressing the problems raised by the staff.
According to her: “This agency is set to raise its international competitiveness by making it a commercially appealing organisation.”
