Firm promises robust community relations in Rivers

The Chief Executive Officer of Eroton Production and Exploration Ebiaho Emafo says they have a duty to engage community contractors fairly in the award of contracts that is enshrined in their GMoUs, stressing that they have a mandate to ensure that community Contractors receive opportunities to tender for jobs with complexity appropriate to their abilities while continuously developing their ability to deliver on more complex projects in line with their company’s  requirements.
Eroton Production and Exploration that operates the OML 18 oilfield, Emafo stated are Keeping faith with the terms of the Global Memorandum of Understanding (GMoU) between them and their sixty host communities through the five Cluster Boards (CDBs).
In a press release signed by Odianoso Masade, lead officer of the Corporate Communications of the company stressed that maintaining GMoU is the key reason Eroton enjoys a very cordial relationship with their hosts communities. According to the statement, the cordial relationship has yielded an outstanding growth in production from 10kbopd to 75kbopd at peak production during the acquisition of the asset in 2015.
The value of service contracts awarded and executed by community contractors the statement further said is over six billion naira from 2016 to July 2020, that is nor part of their investment in their corporate social responsibility initiatives over same period.
The statement harped further that over 20 host community Contractors are continuously engaged in the provision of services that ranges from the Construction of Pipelines, Solid Control, Filtration, Bound Wall Construction, Marine Vessels & Houseboats. Other are Flow Stations Maintenance, Diesel Supply, and the provision of Manpower.
Eroton Production and Exploration that covers a total area of 1,035 SQKM offshore Eastern Niger Delta (Swamp/Shallow Water) on behalf of the NNPC/Eroton Joint Venture (JV) is maintaining a programme aimed at ensuring that entrepreneurs from their host communities acquire relevant entrepreneurial and management skills, actively participate in projects/services and have access to capital through invoice discounting agreements with key financial institutions.
The statement expressed that Eroton is faced with  the global health pandemic challenge, cautioned the host communities, been optimistic that they surmount the pandemic.
