FG plots to increase fuel to N200 per litre
*NNPC Group MD to meet marketers this week to grant import permission and sell not above 200
ABUJA- All seem set for a discreet increase in Petroleum product as the Final panacea to the fuel crisis besetting the Country following the final meet between the NNPC group Managing Director Mainkati Baru and the Economic Team in the government of president Buhari days ago.
Daily Watch investigation in and Around the seat of Power in Abuja confirm that the increase which would be unannounced would see petrol selling at 200 naira par liter and would be allowed to run its course as it is already doing in most filling stations in the country where the fuel is already been sold unofficially for 200 and above apart from the NNPC mega stations
The plot according to Daily Watch is simply to allow marketers go on with their selling price of 200 without NNPC, DPR interference and allow marketers imports and sell within the range not exceeding 200 naira so as to clear the Fuel scarcity and allow for Nigerians see the Fuel which they are already used to buy in the v 200 and above selling price and above 300 in the black market
Daily Watch investigations confirm that the ply to do a secret increase without officially announcing it is to stop any protest or condemnation that would trail the APC government with an official announcement of an increase while the discreet increase would seem as normal since Nigerians for several months now had been buying for the same 200 naira planned by the government.
Already the NNPC Boss in the days ahead is to meet with marketers with the intent of passing out the new Directive giving Marketers the leverages to import fuel and sell anything but not above 200 naira to consumers s a way to end the unending queues in most filling stations all over the country.
Daily Watch attempts to reach out to the Spokesman of the President on the planned discreet movement of official Fuel price to 145 200 naira without any official announcement was not feasible but our sources in the NNPC confirmed the story and said a meet of the NNPC management and Marketers is slated for this week to enable willing marketers go into lifting of fuel at the new Price.
