Clampdown on IPOB and Pro-Biafra groups intensifies

Suspected members of the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) and Movement for the sovereign state of Biafra MASSOB as well as other Pro- Biafra groups were last week raided in their hideout in Ibusa/ Okpanam forest in Delta state.
The commissioner of Police Delta state suMr.paraded Hafiz I uwa paraded suspects with different sophisticated weapons before journalists in the state.
The Police boss said his men who were on routine operations in the forests in Delta state rounded the suspects in their hideout in the thick forest of Ibusa and Okpanam in the state.
He assured that the suspects would face the full wrath of the law.He noted that his officers would not allow criminal elements and successionist promoters to hold Delta state hostage.
However, pro-Biafra members in the past have been haunted by security operatives in a bid to arrest the ring leaders intended to kill the historical agitation of Biafra Self- succession since 1999, in the wake of the reinvigorated agitation in the country. They are Nnamdi Kanu, Ralph Uwazuike, Amaobi Oha-Abuilo and other leaders in their various roles played for Biafra historical Republic.
Consequently, in 2015, the mass protest of Igbos of South Eastern Nigeria were on the street for a peaceful protest were attacked by mobile policemen and security operatives who threw tear-gas canisters at the protesters in abid to disperse the mammoth crowd which led to the burning down of police van and vehicles and several casualties recorded on both sides.
Similarly, in 2017, Nnamdi Kanu’s house was raided by fierce looking soldiers on the order of the federal government and charged for treason. He fled the country following a man haunt for him and other pro-Biafra gladiators, including Amaobi Oha-Abuilo, a MASSOB leader who fled the country having being declared wanted for the leading the mass protest in 1998/1999 which resulted in the death of two policemen.
