The speaker of Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Monday-Bubou Edwin Obolo has dismissed rumours making rounds of his defection to the All progressive Congress(APC) ahead of the November 16 governorship election in Bayelsa state.
The Speaker who was reacting to a publication on the Daily Sun Newspaper and other media platforms alleging that he has defected to the APC, said the alleged defection rumours could only be the handiwork of the opposition calculated to gain cheap political points.
He said “ordinarily, there is no need to respond to such frivolous, mischievous and unfounded publications, but for the purposes of setting the records straight, Rt. Hon. Monday Obolo-Bubou state categorically that the said publication is not only untrue, but an attempt by the author to mislead the people of the state especially Southern Ijaw LGA.
“I have never contemplated leaving the elections winning PDP that has changed the narratives of Bayelsa through the ever working Restoration Government under Gov Seriake Dickson.
The said rumour and falsehood is the imagination of those who are already threaten by the glaring victory of the PDP and promised to deal with the authors of it according to the law.”
He called on his teaming supporters to remain resolute, disregard those fake stories as APC can never be an option for any well-meaning politician.
“I am PDP and PDP is me, victory is sure because PDP is power and advanced development to the People.”he added.
