By Chukwudi Ejimofor. The member represented Aguata Federal Government Constituency from 2011-2019, Rt. Hon. Eucherial Azodo says with the level of decay in governance both in federal level and Anambra state has given the Peoples Democratic Party brighter chances to take over the mantle of leadership both in the centre, and 2021 gubernatorial election in Anambra state. In an exclusive interview with her at her country home Amesi she harped on the opportunities and challenges of PDP at the centre and Anambra state. She said ”The PDP as a party has prospects and opportunities of winning the Anambra state gubernatorial election come 2021, because at the centre APC is not performing. We all can see that Nigeria has failed. In fact Nigeria is going three steps forward and thirty steps backwards. There were promises APC as a party made to Nigerians before they came into power, none they have fulfil”.”Here in Anambra state, we have APGA as as the ruling party and Willie as a Governor, he promised so many things to the masses, that he has failed to deliver. He has not done any of them. Even the good roads we had before he came to power are all dilapidated. There is nothing to show that there is any government in Anambra state. It is a very nice opportunity for PDP to take over government House in Anambra. PDP has good and experienced aspirants who are capable to govern Anambra state if given the opportunity. Any of them that emerges during the primary will win the election outrightly” she fumed.Rt. Hon. Azodo who was former speaker of Anambra state House of Assembly further spoke on the controversial zoning of governorship candidate in Anambra state. She contended that Anambra South senatorial zone, from PDP arrangements was designed to produce the PDP candidate for 2021 gubernatorial election in Anambra state.“There is a point I want to raise here because of the zoning issue in Anambra state. In the PDP, posts were zoned from the national level. The positions at the state level were all given to Anambra central senatorial zone with the understanding that the governor will come from the south senatorial zone. That was why Okey Mmorah, Nnonye Nwangwu, and the zonal woman leader are all from central. This was done with the intention of zoning the governor to the south senatorial zone. Even the Treasurership post was taken away from the south to the central. Now that it is time for PDP to decide where the governorship position will go to, somebody somewhere is saying that there is nothing like zoning in PDP”.”The national working committee of PDP has not made any official statement on the zoning in Anambra state, but the south east zonal vice chairman Umahi said that what the PDP needs is a credible candidate for PDP and that there is no zoning in the PDP constitution. What I am informing you now is, if PDP fails to pick their candidate from Anambra south senatorial zone they will still loose the election come 2021″.The Adaejiejemba Aguata further lamented the lack of leadership in Anambra south senatorial zone. This according to her has resulted to the poor representation of the zone in the party’s caucus meetings. She stressed further that the zone is yearning for leadership.“The PDP Anambra South senatorial zone is yearning for leadership. In all the caucus meetings to discuss issues of zoning, nobody from the south senatorial zone will be there to speak for us. We lack leaders in the PDP South senatorial zone. In other zones there are people that are to arrange and call for meetings. Felix Oli is the leader in the central. Here in south we don’t have. We had leaders like Ukachukwu and Chris Ubah, but because we are not united, we cannot come together to form a formidable front and fight for our right. South senatorial zone is seriously yearning for leadership both in PDP and Anambra state”. She contended
