2019: Foreigners have infiltrated into Nigeria’s election- Ohanaeze Ndigbo

The Apex Igbo body Ohanaeze Ndigbo has alerted the nation on the
infiltration of  the electoral register by foreigners.. The Spokesman
of the organisation , Chuks Ibegbu  also noted that foreigners also
infiltrate and compromise Nigeria/s past census. He noted that our
borders are still very porous and these foreigners who can hardly be
sifted out from the real citizens of many states in the North even
contest and win elections in the North.

Ibegbu therefore called on INEC to ensure the integrity of the Voters
Register and the Census Board to also do the same. Let INEC peruse the
Voters Register and delist these foreign infiltrators . Also let them
delist underaged voters before the elections. Rigging of elections
must stop in Nigeria, Ibegbu maintained

Ibegbu noted that Ohanaeze supports state Police but that the
modalities for it has to be strictly spelt out so that its not abused
by politicians . Ibegbu noted that Ohanaeze stand on Restructuring of
Nigeria remains sacrosanct even as it will consult widely on 2019
elections.

He called on politicians to abide by the rules of the elections and
insisted on a credible, free and fair elections in 2019. He warned
politicians that have nothing to offer Nigerians to quit the scene in
their own interest. Ibegbu thanked Ndigbo for their support to the
leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo under Chief Nnia Nwodo.
