*As Governor restate  urgent arrest of Miyitti Allahs leaders in Benue.

By Ahmed Ahmadu, Benue

Less than a week ago Daily Watch brought out the scary picture of thousands of cows and herders flocking all over the Local Government Areas f Benue state despite the presence of the Anti Grazing Laws and did also warn about a plot to cause the same mayhem that was likened to a genocide in 2018/2019 in Benue state.

Few days after the report, herdsmen in their numbers have reportedly attacked the Governor of the state Chief Samuel Ortom while on a visit to his farm at the popular Makurdi- Naka Road in Makurdi.

The attack which was personally confirmed by the Benue State Governor himself would have turned fatal but for the hurried response and repealing of the plotted attack by men of the Operation Whirl Stroke who were very brave in their rescue of the executive governor from the hands of the Marauding herders who as at the time of this report have taken over the state forest there creating massive panic among farmers who have already started running a away from their farms over fear of  killings by the same herdsmen.

Daily watch findings confirmed that already tension is high in the state not just over the attacked and near escape of the Benue State governor from the killing plot of the herders but over the takeover of the forest and farm land by the Fulani herders who are in the hundreds still filing into the state  in spite of the state anti Grazing Laws with the Military, Police looking the order way instead of arresting the herders.

Daily Watch findings confirmed that while the governor was rescued  no single attempt was made by the team of the Operation Whirl Stroke Military personnel to go after the killer herders or struggle to make any arrest in spite of the overwhelming strength of the Military task force against the attacking herders,

Daily Watch attempts to speak with the Military Task Force on why no single arrest was made in a gracious attack like this on the person of the executive governor of the state was not possible as their spokes person refused to respond to text sent to his phone as at press time.
