… zero tolerance of cultism in the institution – Rector
The Rector Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osura, Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, Dr. Moses Umobong said any lecturers caught receiving sorting from students for mark would face the consequence over their action to rub-mod on the institution education system.
Dr Umobong made this known in a press briefing at the institution conference hall in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area.
The Rector said that any staff involved in such character must be punished despite that would also swim on the consequence without compromise over their dealing rather should focus lecturing the student to become good leaders in future as they would also defend what they have study and compete with their counterpart across the globe.

“I have inform the students to make sure report any lecturers encouraging such development as we are against such manner in the institution rather giving the student qualitative polytechnic education”.
He said we are here to train and produce effective students that can defend their courses when leaving the polytechnic while our hears are on ground just to fish out one lecturer for an example for them to know we are not on child’s play.
Responding over issues on cultism, said since he came on board has been zero tolerance without compromising the gesture while the school fees hike allegation was fault without foundation and advise parents to fish out the allegation if true should expose it to the general public without fear or favour.
He said his tenor would experience tremendous transformation in the institution which has not been since the establishment of the polytechnic and believe by the grace of God he would keep a legacy before he lives office while the issue students to pay school fee would be history.
